School 360: 2022
SWC collaborated with The Visionaries to create designs for a community garden at School 360 in Stratford, East London.
As an existing rooftop garden, the space in situ was very exposed with a couple raised beds and one very tall planter. We ran a co-design workshop with parents and the reception class at School 360 to create a more inclusive, child friendly design for the garden which could reuse the existing elements in a more exciting way.
We created a performance show and tell platform which could double up as seating and outside working space for the school to use, a pergola area to create shelter during the hot summer months, planters with steps up and seating making them accessible to children and a designated greenhouse space, a crucial element to any self-sufficient community garden.
These designs were used as a jumping off point for the community group to raise money for their garden, displaying visual representation of what was being asked for in crowd funders and funding bids.
